Net neutrality being allowed to flourish on the Internet has led to unprecedented innovation, particulaly inrecent years with the development of the mobile handset,  as well as services and applications.

This has led to economic growth and promoted the economic division of business. Some critics, such as network operators and service providers, vote however, that this neutality is beginning to disadvantage them economically and they woud like to see effective separation between the network and some transported services on the Internet because parts of the network structures used are only indirectly paid. In addition, in such a network design operators would not beable to guarantee a certain quality requirement, which require certain services.

With the rapid growth of the Internet becomes the issue of net neutrality, an increasingly relevant topic to all in the business of the Internet. eco sees itself as representing the interests of the German Internet Industry as a whole and recognises the free and effective competition in the Internet as a prerequisite for the further development of the free, global information exchange and thus also as an essential engine of the Internet economy.
