Congratulations, Prof Michael Rotert!
One of Germany’s Internet pioneers is celebrating his 60th birthday, namely Prof Michael Rotert was instrumental in getting Germany connected to the Internet in 1984 and was the first person in Germany to receive an email. He founded the Internet Service Provider Xlink (later KPNQwest) and was co-founder of the Internet Society, DE-NIC, and several other online institutions.

Michael Rotert served as expert to the European Union as well as president of EuroISPA, and is currently the organisation’s honorary spokesperson. He is part of the German G8 delegation on high-tech cybercrime, and has, of course, been eco’s Chairman of the Board for a full decade.
Our congratulations to Michael Rotert!
