Future Apps: advertising & location based services
Mobile applications will become increasingly important for networking and location-based services. As shown by a recent survey based on interviews with experts, and published by eco just ahead of the Mobile World Congress, advertising will become an important factor in financing mobile applications. Companies using mobile applications for marketing purposes not only want to create popular applications, they also want these to be easily accessible in the relevant application stores.
"Mobile apps are evolving from simple entertainers to everyday helpers," explains Dr Bettina Horster, Director of eco's mobile working group and chairperson of VIVAI AG. "Accordingly, the ability to find the right applications online should no longer be a matter of sheer coincidence."
