Stopping rogue software, a priority in 2010
As in years past, 2010 will continue to see a number of emerging threats to corporate IT security. As a cross-industry survey carried out by eco shows, 82 percent of all experts fear an increased or significantly increased online threat level. Respondents considered it a top priority for companies to protect themselves against rogue software while simultaneously increasing online privacy.
"Botnets, viruses, and other malware are increasingly grabbing the spotlight, initially in relation to email, but now in regards to all online operations” said Dr Kurt Brand, leader of eco's security working group. “This shows a growing awareness of the problem. We must urgently forge alliances so that governments, users, and the industry can jointly tackle the issue.”
