More transparency for Cloud Computing and SaaS
eco’s E-Business working group recently met to discuss Cloud Computing and Software as a Service (SaaS). Many participants had personal experiences with Cloud Computing and SaaS which showed that there are many approaches. But participants agreed that a proper overview is lacking. The result is a lack of transparency, meaning that potential customers have difficulties identifying and comparing available solutions.

It was therefore agreed that the working group would assemble a catalogue listing all relevant providers, their products, and product characteristics. There is also a lack of information on important legal questions as basic as the definition of Cloud Computing or SaaS, or the implications of a “cloud” not being localisable in a specific country.
